For GLP-1 users

6 nutrients GLP-1
users are quietly
running low on
.

Your GLP-1 is doing its job: you're eating a lot less. GLP-1s don't strip nutrients from your body, but less food means fewer vitamins. In one big study, more than 1 in 5 adults with type 2 diabetes who started a GLP-1 were diagnosed with at least one nutrient deficiency within a year.

Here are the 6 nutrients to watch. Each one ends with one easy thing you can do today.

Vitamin E

06.

Vitamin E is the one
nobody thinks about.

Vitamin E lives mostly in nuts, seeds and plant oils. When you start eating less, those are often the first foods to go.

10nutrients came up short

In a food-log study of 69 GLP-1 users, people fell short on 10 nutrients. Vitamin E was one of them.

Johnson et al., Front Nutr 2025;12:1566498, 69 adults using a GLP-1 for at least a month, 3-day food records: average vitamin E 9.6 mg a day vs a 15 mg goal; intakes also fell below the recommendation for fiber, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, choline and vitamins A, C and D. Funded by GNC Holdings; all authors are GNC employees. A small, self-reported sample. Food amounts: NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, Vitamin E fact sheet (almonds 1 oz 6.8 mg, 45% DV; sunflower seeds 1 oz 7.4 mg, 49% DV).

In one study, 69 people on a GLP-1 wrote down everything they ate for 3 days. The group came up short on 10 nutrients, and vitamin E was one of them. On average, the group got about 9.6 mg of vitamin E a day. The goal is 15.

Fewer nuts. Less oil. Less vitamin E.

Your body uses vitamin E to help protect your cells from damage. Most of your vitamin E comes from nuts, seeds and plant oils, and when you feel full after a few bites, a handful of almonds or a drizzle of olive oil is easy to skip.

What actually helps

Add a small handful of almonds or sunflower seeds to your day. One ounce gives you almost half the vitamin E you need.

Nuts, seeds, vegetables, herbs and spices laid out on lime paper
Nuts and seeds carry most of the vitamin E.
Vitamin A

05.

Vitamin A hides in foods
you're too full to eat.

Eggs, dairy, carrots, sweet potatoes and leafy greens bring vitamin A. When your appetite drops, those foods get crowded out.

3/5of the vitamin A they need

In the same food-log study, GLP-1 users got about 560 mcg of vitamin A a day, about 3/5 of the 900 mcg goal.

Johnson et al., Front Nutr 2025;12:1566498, 69 adults using a GLP-1 for at least a month, 3-day food records: average vitamin A 559.9 mcg RAE a day vs a 900 mcg goal. Funded by GNC Holdings; all authors are GNC employees. A small, self-reported sample. Roles and food sources: NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, Vitamin A fact sheet.

In the same study, the 69 GLP-1 users averaged about 560 mcg of vitamin A a day, well short of the 900 mcg goal.

Smaller plate. Fewer colors. Less vitamin A.

Your body needs vitamin A for normal vision and a healthy immune system. The best sources are orange and dark green vegetables, eggs and dairy, the same foods that are easy to leave on the plate when you feel full.

Notice a pattern? GLP-1s don't strip these nutrients from your body. You're just eating a lot less food, and less food means fewer vitamins. The fix isn't forcing down meals you don't want. The fix is making the little bit you do eat count, and filling the gaps the easy way.

What actually helps

Put one orange or dark green vegetable on your plate every day, like carrots, sweet potato or spinach.

Vitamin C

04.

When fruit goes,
vitamin C goes with it.

When you're full after a few bites, fruit is usually the first thing you skip. Fruit is where most of your vitamin C comes from.

Halfthe vitamin C they need

GLP-1 users in the food-log study got about 51 mg of vitamin C a day, just over half of the 90 mg goal.

Johnson et al., Front Nutr 2025;12:1566498, 69 adults using a GLP-1 for at least a month, 3-day food records: average vitamin C 51.0 mg a day vs a 90 mg goal; the group also fell short of fruit and vegetable targets. Funded by GNC Holdings; all authors are GNC employees. A small, self-reported sample. Gummies: Supplement Facts panel, amounts per pack of 6 gummies: vitamin C 135 mg (150% DV); the organic blend includes acerola and amla.

In the food-log study, GLP-1 users got about 51 mg of vitamin C a day, a little over half of the 90 mg goal. The group also fell short on fruit and vegetables overall.

Fuller faster. Less fruit. Less vitamin C.

A gap like that is exactly why we made Superfood Greens Gummies. Six strawberry gummies give you 135 mg of vitamin C (150% of your daily value), plus acerola and amla, two fruits famous for their vitamin C.

But here's the part GLP-1 users love: those same six gummies also include every other nutrient on this list. Vitamins A, D, E, B12, zinc and more, plus a blend of superfruits and greens like spirulina, kale and wheatgrass. No shakes that taste like grass. No pills to choke down when your stomach isn't up for it. Just a sweet little gummy you'll actually look forward to.

What actually helps

Have one pack of Superfood Greens Gummies a day, at whatever time you will remember it.

Zinc

03.

When portions shrink,
zinc shrinks with them.

Zinc comes mostly from meat, seafood, eggs, dairy and beans. On a GLP-1, those portions get a lot smaller.

Your body uses zinc for a healthy immune system and for your sense of taste. Meat, seafood, eggs and dairy carry most of the zinc in a typical plate, and oysters carry the most of all. Beans and nuts have some too.

Smaller steak. Fewer beans. Less zinc.

A 2025 advisory from four nutrition and obesity medicine groups put zinc on its list of nutrients to keep an eye on during GLP-1 treatment. When a full plate turns into a few bites, the zinc on that plate shrinks right along with it.

If you can, eat the protein on your plate first, before anything else fills you up.

Vitamin B12

02.

Tired on a GLP-1?
Check your B12.

Feeling tired is a common complaint on a GLP-1. Vitamin B12 is one nutrient worth a closer look, especially if you also take metformin.

1 in 11long-term metformin users had low B12

In a big NIH diabetes study, about 9% of people who took metformin for a long time had low vitamin B12.

Metformin and B12: National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Metformin and Vitamin B12 Deficiency (Diabetes Prevention Program: low B12 in about 5% after 5 years and about 9% with longer use; the American Diabetes Association recommends periodic B12 testing). Tiredness: FDA prescribing information for semaglutide 2.4 mg, fatigue 11% vs 5% on placebo. Gummies: Supplement Facts panel, amounts per pack of 6 gummies: B12 3.6 mcg, B5, B6, biotin and folate each 150% DV.

In trials of the GLP-1 semaglutide, about 11 in 100 people reported feeling tired, compared with 5 in 100 on a placebo. Your body needs vitamin B12 to keep your blood and nerve cells healthy.

Many GLP-1 users with type 2 diabetes also take metformin, a common diabetes medicine known to lower B12 over time.

One pill a day. Year after year. A little less B12.

In the NIH's big Diabetes Prevention Program, about 9 in 100 people on metformin for a long time had low B12. If you're also on metformin, ask your doctor to check your B12.

In every serving

Vitamin D

01.

Vitamin D is
the big one.

Low vitamin D was the most common shortfall in a study of more than 461,000 GLP-1 users, and very little vitamin D comes from food.

1 in 7were diagnosed low in vitamin D

Of more than 461,000 adults with type 2 diabetes who started a GLP-1, about 1 in 7 were diagnosed with low vitamin D within a year.

Butsch et al., Obesity Pillars 2025;15:100186, health-insurance records of 461,382 adults with type 2 diabetes newly prescribed a GLP-1: any nutrient deficiency or deficiency complication 12.7% within 6 months and 22.4% within 12 months; vitamin D deficiency 7.5% and 13.6%, the most common. Funded by Abbott; no comparison group for these figures, so a link, not proof of cause. Food: Johnson et al., Front Nutr 2025;12:1566498, 69 adults using a GLP-1 for at least a month, 3-day food records: "Only 1.4% of this sample met at least 100% of the DRI for Vitamin D." Funded by GNC Holdings; all authors are GNC employees. A small, self-reported sample. Gummies: Supplement Facts panel, amounts per pack of 6 gummies: vitamin D3 30 mcg (1,200 IU, 150% DV).

In that big study, more than 1 in 5 people were diagnosed with at least one nutrient deficiency within a year of starting a GLP-1, and the share kept climbing from 6 months to 12 months. Low vitamin D was the most common, at 13.6%.

And food barely helps. In the 69-person food-log study, only 1 person got enough vitamin D from food.

Most common. Barely in food. Easy to miss.

✓ Superfood Greens Gummies: 30 mcg of vitamin D3 (1,200 IU, 150% DV).

Remember those six nutrients?

Here's what's in every serving of Superfood Greens Gummies:

✓ Vitamin E: 22.5 mg (150% DV)
✓ Vitamin A: 1,350 mcg (150% DV)
✓ Vitamin C: 135 mg (150% DV)
✓ Zinc: 8.25 mg (75% DV)
✓ Vitamin B12: 3.6 mcg (150% DV)
✓ Vitamin D3: 30 mcg (150% DV)

Six gummies. Six nutrients. Zero extra effort. GLP-1s changed how much you eat, so make sure what you get counts.
